Council Activities address the fraternal nature of the Knights of Columbus -- Catholic men being together, and having a great time. Council Activities is the largest of the five programming areas, with a diverse group of committees.
The Athletics Committee promotes and coordinates the participation of Council members in statewide athletics events. Twelve pairs of Council members and wives attended the State Horseshoe Tournament August 18 - 19, 2007. Rich Bader and and Dennis Thompson won fourth place, and three other teams were fifth in their respective divisions. The 2008 State Horseshoe Tournament is August 15 - 17.

In the past, the Council has also participated in the State Golf and Fishing Tournaments. The 2008 Golf Tournament is August 9 - 10, hosted by St. Martin Council #7194 in Jefferson City. Contact the Grand Knight for registration information.

Texas Hold-Em Tournment fundraisers were held on Saturday, September 30, 2006, and Fridays March 23 and July 20, 2007, and April 11, 2008. Additional tournaments are planned on a quarterly basis. Entry is $35, or $15 for non-playing spectators, and the winner will be presented with a Trophy Bracelet. Complimentary drinks are provided. Doors will open at 6 pm, and play will commence an hour later. Please contact the Director if you are interested in playing or are a member volunteering to work.

For those interested in a more frequent poker fix, the hall is now open from 4 pm - 11 pm on Wednesday nights for a poker league. The bar is also open for those who don't want to play cards. Stop by and share some fellowship. Everyone is welcome!

Parties are held at the Council hall on New Year's Eve, and for the Super Bowl. On New Year's Eve, the hall was open, although no specific activities were planned. The 2008 Super Bowl was February 3.
The Council is always concerned about its members who are ill or in the hospital. Get Well Cards are sent when the Council finds out a member is sick, to express the Council's concern, and most importantly, prayers.

In 2006, the Council inaugurated a monthly Barbeque Dinner fundraiser. Every 2nd Saturday of the month, ribs, pork steaks, chicken, and fixings are available for sale at the Council hall from 12 pm - 6 pm. Eat in our bar or carry out. Funds raised support the Centennial Anniversary fund. Our menu includes traditional BBQ fare, but also kielbasa, sauerkraut, and ham hocks and bean soup with corn bread.
